EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS
Scope of Work:
Individuals assigned to positions in this job family perform activities associated with roadway and grounds maintenance, drilling and transportation operations, garbage removal, and operate a variety of equipment in the performance of these activities.
Examples of Duties:
- Operate a variety of equipment such as trucks and buses of various sizes, loader-tractors, rollers, power brooms, pulverizers, and tractors
- Repair roadway surfaces
- Mow grounds and clean culverts
- Perform snow and ice removal
- Repair or replace damaged signs and guardrails
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Perform minor repairs to concrete surfaces, structures, equipment, etc.
- Maintain records
- May supervise employees performing similar work
Minimum Qualifications to Enter Family:
Requires high school diploma or GED. A valid driver license of a class appropriate to the equipment operated is also required. The class will be specified by the employing agency at the time of recruitment.
Exception: The employing institution may substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements with written justification.
