Scope of Work:
Individuals assigned to positions in this job family perform a combination of duties associated with maintenance of kitchen work areas and equipment, the distribution of supplies and prepared foods, and food preparation.
Examples of Duties:
- Receipt and unload supplies received
- Unpack, stock, and move supplies
- Clean work areas and equipment
- Collect and wash dishes and utensils
- Prepare and serve foods
- Operate various cleaning equipment
- Arrange and clean dining tables
- Sort and arrange dishes, utensils, and silverware
- Replace tablecloths
- Distribute meals to various locations
- Perform supply inventory functions
- May function as a lead worker in larger food preparation facilities
Minimum Qualifications to Enter Family:
Requires the completion of eight years of school.
Exception: The employing institution may substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements with written justification.
