Scope of Work:
Individuals assigned to positions in this job family install, maintain and repair refrigeration/air conditioning and heating/ventilating equipment.
Examples of Duties:
- Inspect, adjust, and service refrigeration/air conditioning and heating/ventilating equipment and controls
- Inspect buildings to ensure conformance with approved plans, specifications, standards, building, fire and safety codes
- Diagnose, repair, overhaul, or replace all types of system equipment and parts
- Operate, repair, or maintain power plant heating equipment
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules of buildings and equipment
- Analyze, recommend, and select equipment and materials
- Prepare estimates
- Maintain records
- Order materials, equipment, or parts
- Coordinate work with other trades personnel
- May supervise employees performing similar work
Minimum Qualifications to Enter Family:
Requires high school diploma or GED and licensure, registration or certification as may be required by law.
Exception: The employing institution may substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements with written justification.
