CARPENTRY

Scope of Work:

Individuals assigned to positions in this job family construct and repair structural woodwork from blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.


Examples of Duties:

  • Perform locksmith responsibilities
  • Build structures such as fences, scaffolds, and forms
  • Use and maintain hand tools and power equipment following accepted safety practices
  • Build, repair, and install counters, framework, partitions, etc.
  • Install glass in windows, doors and partitions
  • Replace damaged floor tiles, ceiling tiles, and wall coverings
  • Build & repair tables, benches, cabinets, counters, etc., and other wooden equipment in carpenter shop
  • Install, maintain, adjust, service and reset door closers, window controls, latches, latch sets, window shades, wall fans
  • May supervise employees performing similar work

Minimum Qualifications to Enter Family:

Requires high school diploma or GED.


Exception: The employing institution may substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements with written justification.
