ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE

OVERTIME PAY ELIGIBILITY: Usually non-exempt (exempt status requires

Scope of Work:
Individuals assigned to positions in this job family perform duties
associated in aiding a department head with the management of
administrative support functions of a large department, or for a smaller
unit with campus-wide responsibilities.
Examples of Duties:

Review and answer correspondence
Draft reports including conclusions and recommendations for solving
administrative problems
Plan local, regional, or national events
Assist supervisor in the application and communication of policies
Assist supervisor with the resolution of problems or conflicts by
communicating with involved parties, researching issues, and making
recommendations
Coordinate and contribute to the collection of data for annual or
periodic reports, grants, etc.
Research and draft budget for supervisor
Analyze adminstrative operating practices to create new systems or revise
established procedures
May hire, train, and supervise employees performing similar work
Minimum Qualifications to Enter Family:
Requires high school diploma or GED, and four years of directly related experience.
Exception: The employing institution may substitute directly related
work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements with
written justification.
