Scope of Work:

Individuals in positions assigned to this job family provide support to educational services such as libraries, educational or day care facilities and educational programs.

Examples of Duties:

• Provide assistance to instructors in planning, preparing, and implementing education plans
• Provide training and activities to promote development and learning
• Plan, develop, and prepare various teaching aids
• Assist students, individually or in groups, with assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts
• May participate in evaluations of learning progress; prepare evaluation reports
• Provide circulation services
• Create and maintain databases
• Create and maintain acquisitions and serials subsystems
• Catalog materials
• Provide reference services
• Verify, prepare, order, monitor payment process of book requests
• Maintain library materials and equipment
• May report health, disciplinary, learning, or other problems to the supervisor
• May observe and supervise children in classroom and/or residential program activities
• May supervise employees performing similar work

Minimum Qualifications to Enter Family:

Requires an Associate degree in an appropriate field.

Exception: The employing institution may substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements with written justification.
