Scope of Work:

Individuals assigned to positions in this job family are responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting scientific research and developing and applying research methodologies and techniques in the collection, analysis, and reporting of data, results, and interpretations.

Examples of Duties:

  • Identify data sources and design collection instruments
  • Plan and conduct studies using appropriate methodologies
  • Organize, analyze, and interpret studies, surveys, and statistics
  • Prepare conclusions and reports
  • May supervise employees performing similar work

Minimum Qualifications to Enter Family:

Requires a Bachelor degree in the field of scientific research being performed, or statistics, economics, or mathematics.

Exception: The employing institution may substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements with written justification.
