Scope of Work:

Individuals assigned to positions in this job family are responsible for performing health care related services.

Examples of Duties:

• Perform medical laboratory testing
• Provide health care for patients
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic needs of patients
• Determine priority of treatments
• Instruct and counsel patients
• Compounding preparations according to prescriptions and dispensing medical preparations
• Provide medication consultation
• Provide health care services such as physical exams under the direction of a licensed physician
• Initiate medical treatment and provide follow-up
• Perform nursing services
• May supervise employees performing similar work

Minimum Qualifications to Enter Family:

Requires a Bachelor degree in a science or health care related discipline, and licensure, registration, or certification as may be required by law.

Exception: The employing institution may substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements with written justification.
