Scope of Work:
Individuals assigned to positions in this job family are responsible for the design, production, and dissemination of communication and information about agency
activities and programs.
Examples of Duties:
- Plan and provide management direction over public relations activities
- Direct and produce video products, audiovisual, and other electronic media
- Schedule, promote, and provide management direction for operations of an auditorium or performance facility
- Plan and supervise technical operations of a performance facility
- Administer a broadcasting system including radio and closed circuit television systems
- Plan and direct programs such as alumni relations, public relations, community relations, high school relations and fund raising
- Prepare informational material for release in a wide variety of media, including news releases, photos, reports, video, and electronic files
- Research information from professional and technical sources
- Direct the gathering of data, information, composition of news items and development of informational projects
- Develop and establish methods of presentation of programs and services
- Develop and implement policies and procedures, approve budget expenditures, monitor time and material costs
- May supervise employees performing similar work
Minimum Qualifications to Enter Family:
Requires a Bachelor degree in an appropriate field, or an Associate degree and three years of directly related work experience.
Exception: The employing institution may substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements with written justification.
