Scope of Work:

Individuals assigned to positions in this job family provide technology and administrative support.


Examples of Duties:

  • Identify, research and select technologies or systems to support strategic direction
  • Develop, manage, and provide customer support of technologies or systems
  • Allocate system resources
  • Receive, log, analyze, and continue monitoring of problems
  • Direct data processing functions including retrieval, backup and storage of data
  • Provide technical and administrative data base support
  • Develop, implement, install, and coordinate network systems
  • Design, plan, maintain management, and utilization of industrial electronics systems including central building automation systems, process control systems, and campus-wide alarm systems
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex computer programs and applications
  • Plan, design, program, install, and maintain specialized computer systems
  • Plan, design, develop, and administrate networked systems
  • May supervise employees performing similar work

Minimum Qualifications to Enter Family:

Requires a Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; or an Associate degree and three years of directly related work experience.


Exception: The employing institution may substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements with written justification.
